Charles G. McDaniel – Lifetime Achievement Award
UniGroup President and CEO Marc Rogers presented Charles G. McDaniel, Hilldrup, Stafford, Virginia, with the 2019 UniGroup Lifetime Achievement Award. McDaniel received the award for his dedication to UniGroup and leadership in the moving industry.
ST. LOUIS (Oct. 15, 2019) – UniGroup President and CEO Marc Rogers recently presented Charles G. McDaniel of Hilldrup in Stafford, Virginia, with the 2019 UniGroup Lifetime Achievement Award at the organization’s annual meeting in Nashville. The award recognizes individuals who have shown particular dedication to and leadership within UniGroup and the moving industry.
McDaniel has nearly 60 years of experience in the industry, working at Hilldrup since he was 12 and full-time since he graduated college. He is a visionary who rallied his team around the concept of taking care of the customer and striving to be the best, not the biggest. Under his leadership, Hilldrup opened a first-of-its-kind 10,000 square foot training center at its headquarters, expanded to include eight facilities along the Southeast and reached gross sales of $100 million.
Beyond Hilldrup, McDaniel influenced the moving and transportation industry by serving on the UniGroup Board of Directors for a total of 22 years. He also served on the board of AMSA/American Movers Conference for 22 years as well as sat on multiple chamber of commerce and other boards while pursuing philanthropic work.
