ST. LOUIS (Sept. 17, 2021) – Together, with their network of Mayflower Transit and United Van Lines agents, UniGroup hosted celebrations across the country to recognize the dedication of more than 5,000 van operators during Van Operator Appreciation Week on Sept. 12-18.
Employees from UniGroup headquarters, located in Fenton, Missouri, made more than 1,000 phone calls over the last two weeks to show appreciation to their van operators for their dedication and tireless work. Additionally, UniGroup received generous donations from their sponsors, including safety items such as roadside safety equipment and back braces to distribute to drivers. A free hot breakfast and lunch was also served to any van operator who was driving through town. As other incentives, fuel cards were given to van operators and monetary awards were provided based on a drawing from eligible van operators.
“We take this week as an opportunity each year to remind our van operators they’re a valuable asset to not only the company, but to the agency family and to our customers,” UniGroup Safety Manager, Melissa Pilgram said. “They’re on the frontlines helping families navigate one of the most stressful times. We thank them for their commitment and dedication in providing excellent service to our customers.”
As van operator appreciation week comes to an end, UniGroup would like to thank not only their van operators but all drivers who have been on the frontlines servicing customers, especially over the last 18 months. UniGroup appreciates all you do, and the team recognizes it is not easy for van operators to be away from their loved ones. Their hard work does not go unnoticed.
