UniGroup Raises More Than $16,000 for United Way

ST. LOUIS (July 24, 2018) – UniGroup recently hosted its sixteenth annual 5k + 10k for the United Way. With the help of 60 volunteers, nearly 400 participants and fantastic sponsors, the event generated more than $16,000 for the United Way of Greater St. Louis.

“I love co-chairing this event because of the people we meet on race day. No matter if they’re walking, running or volunteering, there is an energy here that is inspiring,” said Kristy Walz, race director and co-chair of the United Way 5k +10k committee. “It’s also great to know that the funds raised go toward helping those in need in our community. We couldn’t do it without the support of our sponsors, employees, agents and race participants.”

For the third consecutive year, the Fleet Feet training team used the United Way 5k + 10k as their goal race for spring training. Additional sponsors included Fabick CAT, Echo Global Logistics, A-Mrazek Moving Systems, Fleishman Hillard, Lowen Color Graphics and Thompson Coburn, LLP.

At the event’s end, almost $1,000 in prize money was awarded to the top three male and female finishers in the 5k and 10k – $100 for first, $75 for second and $50 for third.
