UniGroup Elects New Board Members

ST. LOUIS (Nov. 9, 2023) — Anthony Federico, Don Hindman and John Chipman, Jr. were each elected to a three-year term on UniGroup’s Board of Directors. UniGroup is the parent company of United Van Lines, Mayflower Transit and other transportation solution companies. The election took place virtually during the company’s Annual Meeting of Shareholders.    

Federico is president of Liberty Moving & Storage Co., Inc. located in Commack, New York. As a third-generation leader for his family’s business he upholds the same values as they did when the company was established in 1939 — honesty, integrity and reliability. Liberty has been a proud agent of United Van Lines for more than 20 years, beginning their relationship in 2001. Working to further the network and serve on the UniGroup Board of Directors are ways Federico moves the needle and pushes the enterprise to the future.  Federico says, “I have always been inspired and motivated by Directors who selflessly gave back to the system and hope that I too can do the same for our next generation while adding value to the organization.” 

Hindman is the president and chief executive officer and principal of Johnson Storage & Moving Co., LLC headquartered in Denver, Colorado. Since Hindman began with the company in 2010, he has worked to grow the organization from a $19 million-dollar company with six locations to a $110 million-dollar company with 19 locations. “I look forward to collaborating with such a great group of executives to help UniGroup reach its full potential as the industry leader.  My number one goal is to foster profitable growth in UniGroup’s core business by thinking outside the box and challenging historic norms,” said Hindman. 

Chipman, Jr. is the executive vice president of Chipman Relocation & Logistics for the principal location in San Ramon, California. Chipman, Jr. has been an influential member of the UniGroup organization for more than 20 years serving as a shareholder since 1991. Throughout the years, Chipman Relocation & Logistics has expanded through the West Coast establishing 14 United and Mayflower agency locations. According to John, “I look forward to working closely with our Board and management team to tackle the issues facing our member agents. Together we can create a value proposition that will help retain current members and attract great movers to UniGroup’s family of agents. Mayflower and United’s prospects are very exciting.” 

Thomas E. Andresen (CEO and general counsel of T.E Andresen Inc. in Salisbury, Massachusetts); Ray Conlin (CEO of McCollister’s Global Services in Burlington, New Jersey); and David Sabada (Owner of A-Mrazek Moving Systems, Inc. in St. Louis, Missouri) were re-elected to three-year terms.
